Ivanhoe Neons Competitive Squads

Upon joining the Ivanhoe Neons Swimming Club you will be assessed and allocated to one of the four main squads:

  • Emerging Squad
  • Junior Squad
  • Target Squad
  • National Age / Senior Squad

All swimmers commence squad training in our Emerging Squad.  Junior, Target and National Age / Senior Squads are for those swimmers who are competing at District, State and National level.  Swimmers in these squads train much harder and for more hours each week.  Promotion to our higher squads requires dedication and is not given easily.  However, any swimmer can reach this level and should strive towards it.

Training Venues & Times

All squad training sessions are held at the Ivanhoe Grammar School 25m pool or the Fitzroy 50m pool unless stated otherwise.

Upon allocation of your squad training group, swimmers can attend any of their group's listed training times as indicated in on our website.  Some members will be required to change groups, at the Head Coach's discretion.  Training times for all squads are subject to change throughout the year and any changes are notified in the newsletter, by email and via word of mouth to squad members.  Holiday training and weeks off are similarly notified.

Squad training and Membership

To participate in squad training and competition, all swimmers must be fully paid-up members of the club.

Learn To Swim Victoria Aquatic Program

Joanne Love can arrange tuition through Learn To Swim Victoria swim school for swimmers not suitable for competitive squad training at Ivanhoe Neons.  These feeder squads include:
