Club Awards Available to Ivanhoe Neons Members

All awards are presented to swimmers at the annual Presentation Night and AGM.  This is usually held in May, which coincides with the start of the new swimming year.

Club Championship Age Champions

Male and Female in each group:

Calculated from results of the Ivanhoe Neons Club Championships held at IGS pool in March/ April at the end of the swimming season.  Points are awarded for winning or placing in each event and tallied at the end of the night.  Note that the age groups awarded may not coincide with those in which medals are awarded on the night of Club Championships and age groups may be combined at the discretion of the committee.  The committee also reserves the right to include Encouragement Awards deemed appropriate from the results.

Time Trials Awards

Aggregate Awards: Top Ten Awards:  for first to tenth places:

Calculated from the results of Club Time Trials nights held on the third Friday of every month at 6pm at IGS (more information here) (note that Time Trial dates may change or be cancelled at the committee's discretion).  Points are awarded to swimmers for both competing in the various events, as well as achieving personal best times.  At the end of the season the points won by each swimmer in each stroke are tallied and the highest ten place getters receive the aggregate awards.  In the event of a tie, a count-back is performed with the winner having the highest point score in freestyle.  Note that these 10 award winners are ineligible for any other Time Trial award.

Stroke Improvement Awards & Runner-up Stroke Improvement Awards:  one award for each stroke:

Calculated from the results of time trials nights.  After the ten aggregate awards have been calculated the remaining (i.e. not any swimmer who is in the Top 10) swimmers' results for each individual stroke are tallied and a most improved and runner up most improved for each stroke are awarded.  In the event of a tie, the award will be given to the swimmer who has participated in more time trials nights.  Note that no swimmer may receive more than one award from this category.
